What is Organic Food

Organic Food Vs. Non-Organic Food

Organic Food is prepared using methods which involve no use of chemicals at all be it preservatives, fertilizers or pesticides. You can easily tell the difference between Organic and Non-Organic food by looking at the food packaging. Organic food usually comes with an Organic Logo on the packaging. There exists an Organic Certifying Body that checks whether or not the organic produce meets the standard requirements. After carrying out a thorough check, the Organic Certifying Body then grants the Producer/Manufacturer/Farmer/Company the permission to label the food as an “Organic Product”.

The only disadvantage of buying Organic Food is that it will cost you about 20-100% more than the non-organic food, reason being that Organic food has a better quality and its preparation requires more  effort and hard work . Another reason for Organic Food being more expensive is that its production involves use of Organic fertilizers which are more costly than the ordinary chemical fertilizers.

One major benefit of consuming Organic Food is that you can grow it in the backyard of your house! All you have to do is use the right Organic Fertilizers and Organic Pesticides and voila – your Organic food is ready to be eaten. It’s healthier, quicker and convenient!
